HAVENWOOD FALLS – Today we are talking with Melissa Wright. Wright has written Toil and Trouble, a Havenwood Falls novella. Wright is a young adult and fantasy author. Some of her other works include: The Frey Saga, Descendants Series and Shattered Realms.

Who is an author you look up to?

I love Maggie Steifvater’s writing. There is just something so wonderful about her books that I find myself sucked in, unable to put them down, and still thinking about them months later. The Scorpio Races is an all time favorite.

Out of all of the books you have written, which one is your favorite?

Toil and Trouble has absolutely been my favorite. I’m a huge fan of Practical Magic and grew up on witch stories, and this was my first paranormal romance, so I’ve had the best time.

What is your go-to genre to read?

I love fantasy. My favorites are YA fantasy (Strange the Dreamer), epic fantasy (hello, Game of Thrones), and paranormal fantasy (audiobooks by Molly Harper). They are a wonderful escape and I cannot get enough.

Do you have any other new releases coming soon?

I do! I have a witchy paranormal fantasy coming in July called Blood & Brute & Ginger Root.

What is your favorite food?

Tacos!

Thank you, Melissa, for your time today.
